Back-Up Camera; Swift Hitch

IMG_7366

This is the Swift Hitch viewer and camera next to an i Phone. These are very compact and easy to use.

Do you tow a trailer? If so, I know there is one experience you don’t like; hooking up the trailer to the hitch. You have two options and I have done both. First, if you are by yourself, you wear the seat of you tow vehicle out jumping in and out to see how close the ball of the hitch is to the trailer and if it is lined up correctly. Once you get it close you start pushing or tugging on the trailer to get it the last inch or so to match up with the receiver.

Second, if you have someone with you; they stand by the trailer and direct you to a perfect alignment. They may use hand signals or voice commands. However, this often results in screaming and statements like, “No, your other left!”

As entertaining as this might be for those of you with a sick sense of humor, I just discovered something that promises to stop all this. I love electronic gadgets, most men do. I just came across the Swift Hitch. It is a portable back-up camera and viewer.

It is has two parts. The first is a very small camera that has a magnetic base which can be mounted on any metal surface. The second is a hand held viewer with a color 2.5 inch LCD screen. The camera even has seven infrared lights for use at night.

We have not yet had an opportunity to give our unit a full test but we soon will and you can read it all on our Product Review page.

We have a brief review posted now and the more extensive review will be coming up in a week or so. Make sure you check back to get our full opinion of this nifty little device.

About the Author: I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I have been into cars since I was old enough to remember. I don't have a brand loyalty although I do prefer American Muscle especially the 1969/1970 NASCAR Aero Cars. (Check our our www.TalladegaSpoilerRegistry.com page) As long as it has four wheels on it I get excited. Few men are lucky enough to be able to share their passion for cars with the woman they love. Fortunately, my wife Katriana is also a gear head and many of our activities revolve around the cars. We have a small collection that includes at least one car from each of the Big Three. Katrina prefers all original cars while I like to modify them so we have a few of each. When we aren't playing with cars we are out with our miniature donkeys.
