Part of the enjoyment of old cars is that they take you back to a different time. It may be a time from your high school years or when you sat on your dad’s lap and he let you steer the car. For some it is simply the ability to relive a time they never experienced. Each and every car has a story and its own set of memories; memories that are still being made today with every new drive the car takes.

Unfortunately, it is impossible for even the wealthiest of us to own every car we would like to have in our garage. Just possibly we can get some of the experiences we missed out on by reading the stories of others. Today, we are going to start what we call “Back Tracks”.

These will be reprints from old car magazines, some will be road tests, some will be advertisements and some will be just stories but all will come from those magazines we all read back then. Motor Trend, Car and Driver, Hot Rod, Popular Hot Rod and what ever we can find. We will also be continuing to bring you TV Shows and Commercials from that time period. I hope you enjoy these and let us know how we might improve this feature for you.

I grew up and lived in Iowa for a good portion of my life before moving to Southern California. After 20+ years we now live outside Nashville Tennessee. I have been into cars since I was old enough to remember. I don't have a brand loyalty although I do prefer American Muscle especially the 1969/1970 NASCAR Aero Cars. (Check out our other web site at www.TalladegaSpoilerRegistry.com site) As long as it has four wheels and an engine I get excited. Few men are lucky enough to be able to share their passion for cars with the woman they love. Fortunately, my wife, Katriana, is also a gear head and many of our activities revolve around the cars. We have a small collection that includes at least one car from each of the Big Three. It includes a Best of Show winner, a survivor, a driver with lots of patina and several others. Katrina prefers all original cars while I like to modify them so we have a few of each. When we aren't playing with cars we are out working with or showing our miniature donkeys. You can see more about that part of our lives at http://www.LegendaryFarms.com.
