1969 Ford Talladega Project; Sold

This is a very rare authentic 1969 Ford Talladega. It is in the best shape I have ever seen a project car. There is virtually no rust and it is extremely sound. My wife and I have another Talladega and several other Project Cars. It is just a shame to let it sit in the storage building and gather dust. It needs to be in the hands of someone who will build it.

The entire substructure is solid.
There are the typical extra holes in the shock towers for access to the grease fittings.
This is after the interior was pulled out of the car. The rust is all surface rust but there is a hole in the tunnel for a floor shifter.
As you can see the car was originally maroon.
All 4 corners appear to be rust free and solid.
Trunk is good.
Not even the battery box area is rusted! This car is solid.
My neighbor has a 69 Talladege white and needs to sell it because he is getting up there in years and needs the money to live off of. It is in 100% original, running condition, no rust and in very good condition. Could you give me an idea of what it might be worth and the best way to sell it? I would really appreciate any advise that you could give me.

Hate to say it, but I’m glad to see someone with the “guts” to modify one of these long nose cars. My Gurney Spoiler 2 was so far gone that most would have parted it out. Instead, it’s slated to receive a coil over front suspension, a Ford DOHC converted to 2-4’s on a custom made intake, backed with a T56 six speed tranny. The body will remain pretty much stock with a few period nascar mods while the interior and chassis will go the full resto-mod route. Good for you!
Doug, I love the restored cars but if they were all original then it would be very boring. I plan to show our original Talladega right beside the resto mod when it is done. I would really like to see some photos of your Spoiler II and some progress reports. What suspension will you be using etc.
Front suspension will be Rod and Custom Motorsports. They have a fully sorted setup for the 4.6 Cammer motor in the Torino including mounts. The tranny tunnel will have to be raised slightly to make room for the T56. RCM are in the developmental stages of a bolt in three link for the Torino’s and we’ve made initial overtures to have my car serve as the developmental mule once it’s mobile.
The car needed a complete cowl/firewall (secured from your buddy Lou from Cali) and replacement of the floor (also got from Lou), the drain channel for the trunk and the rear panel. I have everything gathered. RRS in Nicholasville KY are doing the body and paint and fab work on the front suspension. I’ll be handling the rest including the interior and the motor. We’re shooting for participation in next year’s HR Powertour.
I’ll get you pics as work progresses. My custom intake should be finished by mid August and I’ll get it installed and complete the motor and send you pics.

I have a very rare 1969 numbers matching rust free Talladega with Marti report and Dealer Invoice paper work. 428 cj motor & C6 Transmission professionally restore with invoices. This car is a Bessemer, Al. car with the dealer installed air conditioning and period correct hood tack also dealer installed. Car need to be repainted.
