Gilmore Car Museum; Part 2

Heritage Center Cas

The Heritage Center is where your tour begins. It also contains the Gilmore Store and Administrative offices. What you are here for is the Duesenberg display and the American Classic Special Exhibit.

The photos contained in this Post were all located inside this building.

The first thing you see when you walk into the Museum is a gorgeous display of Duesenbergs.
This Duesy just takes your breath away.
Not everything in the Gilmore collection is large, there a little treasures throughout. Keep your eyes open, slow down and study the collection.
This limo is absolutely huge. You could almost see the 30s movie starlet or Wall Street executive sitting in the back.
Once you get a fill of the cars, check out the ceiling of the building.
This Duesenberg race car is really cool.
This is not my favorite Delahaye but it was still beautiful.
There were several dioramas in the Museum. This one replicating the dust boll era.
This was a matching set of car and travel trailer. We will show you inside this one in another Post.
1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruisers are one of the cars on my bucket list. More on this one in another Post, check back often.
The Chrysler Turbine car, one of our Feature cars.
Not everything in the collection is old, check out this Hurst Olds.
Even a Ford Torino Cobra. This was a terrific car.
These over the top Mustangs are a sure hit with muscle car fans.
The displays and buildings are outstanding.

Richard

I grew up and lived in Iowa for a good portion of my life before moving to Southern California. After 20+ years we now live outside Nashville Tennessee. I have been into cars since I was old enough to remember. I don't have a brand loyalty although I do prefer American Muscle especially the 1969/1970 NASCAR Aero Cars. (Check out our other web site at www.TalladegaSpoilerRegistry.com site) As long as it has four wheels and an engine I get excited. Few men are lucky enough to be able to share their passion for cars with the woman they love. Fortunately, my wife, Katriana, is also a gear head and many of our activities revolve around the cars. We have a small collection that includes at least one car from each of the Big Three. It includes a Best of Show winner, a survivor, a driver with lots of patina and several others. Katrina prefers all original cars while I like to modify them so we have a few of each. When we aren't playing with cars we are out working with or showing our miniature donkeys. You can see more about that part of our lives at http://www.LegendaryFarms.com.
