Muscle Car Book: Chevelle SS Restoration Guide

I was on the airplane again and just finished a review of another book; Chevelle SS Restoration Guide by Paul A. Herd and published by Motorbooks. Muscle cars are a hot topic and the Chevelle SS is one of the most popular.

I must say I was disappointed. Chevelles are very popular and available. It is a Chevy for Pete’s sakes. Maybe I am getting spoiled but there should be a wealth of information out there on these cars. If it was one of the lesser know or available cars I could excuse some errors and photos but not on a Chevy.
In the author’s defense this book was first published over 15 years ago and a lot has changed in the hobby since 1992.
Not all is bad. If you are restoring an SS you will likely find the book useful. It is crammed full of parts numbers and some history and descriptions.

About the Author: I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California. The time there was very rewarding but the urge for a slower pace moved us to Tennessee a few years ago and we love it. I have been into cars since I was old enough to remember. I don't have a brand loyalty although I do prefer American Muscle. As long as it has four wheels on it I get excited. Few men are lucky enough to be able to share their passion for cars with the woman they love. Fortunately, my wife Katriana is also a gear head and many of our activities revolve around the cars. When they don't we are usually out with our miniature donkeys. You can see more about that part of our lives at http://www.LegendaryFarms.com.
