Smart String
My Sting is smarter than your String!
Sounds like a challenge doesn’t it. Well, you better send your string to college because the string I have is pretty smart!
A friend of mine, Herb at HDA Design just sent me one of these as a test to see how I liked it. I like it a lot!
This is a crazy little device that is a calculator with a string inside. The device is smaller than an iPhone and extremely light. It also has a level and mini flash light built in.
How Smart is it?
To get started you simply hold the “On” button for 2 seconds – then it comes on. You have two choices, calculator mode and measure mode. There is one button on the keypad that toggles you back and forth between the two. To measure you simply pull out the string and measure what you want, even around the circumference of a tire or the size of a box. The string can be locked open with a simple slider switch on the top of the devise.
There are three red buttons to record measurements. You pull out the string and measure what ever you want and then hit the red 1/H button for the first measurement; take the second measurement and hit red button 2/W; do the same with the third measurement and hit red button 3/D.
After you have the dimensions you want, switch back to Calc mode for the add, subtract, multiply, divide..etc functions. You can use the stored dimensions to calculate the volume of the box or the area of a square etc.
A final price has not yet been set and depends on the quantity you want to purchase. However, I have been assured it is no more than a regular calculator. The inventor, Jeff Freed hopes it will be a big hit as a promotional item. The billboard advertisement on the front can be customized to include your logo! I think the Legendary Collector Car logo would look terrific on there!
