Good Guys Des Moines 2009

Good Guys car show Des MoinesWe just returned from the Good Guys Show in Des Moines Iowa and it was one of the best shows we have been to. We were at Nashville Good Guys last weekend and it was so hot we had to leave. Des Moines was cool with some rain on the 4th but the weather was very nice, unusual for Iowa this time of year.

There were tons of people and the cars were terrific. We spotted several we wanted to take home and even tried to do so on a couple but no sale.

We had our red and black 1959 El Camino on siteĀ  but did not enter it to be judged. I had a High School Reunion a few miles down the road in Oskaloosa so couldn’t do both.

If you are any where near the mid-west when Good Guys come to Des Moines you want to make sure and put this show on your “Bucket List”.

Here are a few teaser photos. Over the next couple of days we will be posting photos from the show on the General Show, Hot Rods, Rat Rods, Customs and Muscle Cars. We will even be bring you a fantastic car by Rad Rods by Troy on our Feature Car page. A video is also coming.

I grew up and lived in Iowa for a good portion of my life before moving to Southern California. After 20+ years we now live outside Nashville Tennessee. I have been into cars since I was old enough to remember. I don't have a brand loyalty although I do prefer American Muscle especially the 1969/1970 NASCAR Aero Cars. (Check out our other web site at www.TalladegaSpoilerRegistry.com site) As long as it has four wheels and an engine I get excited. Few men are lucky enough to be able to share their passion for cars with the woman they love. Fortunately, my wife, Katriana, is also a gear head and many of our activities revolve around the cars. We have a small collection that includes at least one car from each of the Big Three. It includes a Best of Show winner, a survivor, a driver with lots of patina and several others. Katrina prefers all original cars while I like to modify them so we have a few of each. When we aren't playing with cars we are out working with or showing our miniature donkeys.
