So Cal Speed Shop
We recently paid a return visit to arguably the best known speed shop in the Country, So Cal Speed Shop. We were fortunate enough to visit and tour the shop several years ago but on this trip Katrina was with me and she desperately wanted to see their facilities in Pomona CA. We were lucky enough to even visit with Jimmy Shine in the shop. Of course Katrina could not leave without a So-Cal Lone Wolf Jacket from their shop’s store. Actually, I am jealous I did not get one for myself while I was there.
It was a very busy place during our visit with numerous cars under construction as well as a steady line of enthusiasts buying speed parts over the counter.
As you go through the photos below look for Jimmy Shine, also look for his special raw metal hot rod truck, there are a couple of original paint sedans getting the hot rod treatment and especially keep your eyes peeled for ZZ Tops Billy Gibbons’ newest hot rod build.
I will be in the States for work end of July to beginning of August. I will have my 14year old daughter with me. We are from New Zealand. Any chance on getting a guided tour or look around.

John, Welcome to the US! I am not sure where you will be visiting while in our Country but I assume you are asking about the So Cal Speed Shop. I have not visited there for a couple of years but they did have regular visiting tours several days a week at different times. They are located in Pomona California and I suggest you look them up online http://www.est1946.com/ and contact them directly. They also have a Facebook page you can check out. If S CA is your destination make sure to also visit the Peterson Museum and the NHRA Museum (it is also located in Pomona at the Fairplex). Depending on where else you may be visiting I may have some other suggestions for you. I hope you and your daughter have a wonderful time in our Country.
