When I was a kid growing up in Iowa I had never heard of a Christmas Parade. I could not imagine wanting to go out in the cold winter air, stand around for hours to see a parade. Living in Southern California for many years introduced the concept to me and it made sense where winter is like a warm fall day. Now that we are in Tennessee it is a bit of a combination of weather. The winter temperatures in December can be down right cold or more like spring.

This past weekend the small community of Leipers Fork Tennessee held its Christmas parade and it is unlike any other I have ever been to. We have participated in many such parades with our miniature donkeys but never had more fun than at this one. There was certainly a strong Christmas spirit but also a strong sense of fun and celebration of the Tennessee way of life.

I have include some of my favorite cars from the parade even though there were beautiful animals, horse drawn buggies and more!

When this truck went by I had to do a double take at the ugly guy ridding shot gun!

If you wonder what these same fellows are up to in the summer check out this hysterical video of their antics at the Franklin half marathon.

Leipers Fork Christmas Parade 2015. It has been the custom for parade participants from all over to throw candy to children along the route. This happens as well at Leipers Fork but may participants went a step above. These fellows in the hot rod were throwing stuffed animals to the children! Another float had extremely large stuffed animals decorating their float and handed them out to selected children along the route. There were lots of smiling children in Leipers Fork!

I grew up and lived in Iowa for a good portion of my life before moving to Southern California. After 20+ years we now live outside Nashville Tennessee. I have been into cars since I was old enough to remember. I don't have a brand loyalty although I do prefer American Muscle especially the 1969/1970 NASCAR Aero Cars. (Check out our other web site at www.TalladegaSpoilerRegistry.com site) As long as it has four wheels and an engine I get excited. Few men are lucky enough to be able to share their passion for cars with the woman they love. Fortunately, my wife, Katriana, is also a gear head and many of our activities revolve around the cars. We have a small collection that includes at least one car from each of the Big Three. It includes a Best of Show winner, a survivor, a driver with lots of patina and several others. Katrina prefers all original cars while I like to modify them so we have a few of each. When we aren't playing with cars we are out working with or showing our miniature donkeys. You can see more about that part of our lives at http://www.LegendaryFarms.com.
