Hot Rod Magazine 65 Year Cover Car Show

Last weekend Katrina and I attended the Hot Rod Magazine 65 Year Cover Car Show. If you haven’t heard about this show then you don’t read Hot Rod. For the first time they invited every car that had ever been on the cover of Hot Rod Magazine to attend a car show in Pomona, CA at the Fairplex. They also invited anyone who thought their car should be on the cover to attend an outdoor show at the same location. Believe me there was no shortage of outstanding cars for anyone’s taste.

I took hundreds of photos and will not attempt to show you all of them today or ever. Today, you are going to get a little taste of what we saw and over the upcoming weeks I will spend a little more time and detail on some of what we thought were the best from our perspective. As you might expect from a mag like Hot Rod the supply of dragsters and hot rods was over the top with a strong flavor of stuff from way back when. In fact, I would almost bet there were more older cover cars than recent ones.

From the fallowing sample see if there is anything that catches your eye.

I grew up and lived in Iowa for a good portion of my life before moving to Southern California. After 20+ years we now live outside Nashville Tennessee. I have been into cars since I was old enough to remember. I don't have a brand loyalty although I do prefer American Muscle especially the 1969/1970 NASCAR Aero Cars. (Check out our other web site at www.TalladegaSpoilerRegistry.com site) As long as it has four wheels and an engine I get excited. Few men are lucky enough to be able to share their passion for cars with the woman they love. Fortunately, my wife, Katriana, is also a gear head and many of our activities revolve around the cars. We have a small collection that includes at least one car from each of the Big Three. It includes a Best of Show winner, a survivor, a driver with lots of patina and several others. Katrina prefers all original cars while I like to modify them so we have a few of each. When we aren't playing with cars we are out working with or showing our miniature donkeys.
