CMT Awards Video with Taylor Swift and Shania Twain-Thelma and Louise Parody
Ok all you car guys take 5 minutes out of your Wednesday evening and tune into the CMT Awards on Country Music Television (CMT). It will have something for everyone! If you have young girls in the house, make sure they watch with you!
I just got back from spending 14 hours on the set of the taping for the opening segment for the CMT Awards and it will be something you will not want to miss. We received a call late last week wanting to know if they could use our 1965 Thunderbird for a “commercial”. I said of course and we agreed to have the car on location Monday. I was blown away when I showed up and saw the mass of crew members, limos, tour buses and security.
This obviously was no commercial shoot! I have been involved with cars for several TV shows and a music video but this was way beyond that.
As it turned out the production company is doing a 3 minute version of the 1991 movie Thelma and Louise for the opening of the CMTs! Can you imagine the effort involved to shoot video on Monday and have it on the air Wednesday night? The CMAs are being broadcast as part of the CMA Music Fest here in Nashville this week so all the big names are in town and we had many of them on the set and in our Bird!
Have you ever heard of Taylor Swift or maybe Shania Twain or possibly Kid Rock? If not maybe the comedian Ron White or the legend Kenny Rogers? They were all there and we have the photos but will not post them until after the Awards tomorrow night!
This turned out to be a wonderful day with some great people. Of all, I was most impressed with Taylor Swift and her staff. She was a real work horse and as cute as she can be. She seemed to truly enjoy the activities of the day although she appeared very tired of a full day in the hot Tennessee summer sun. She took time to sign some autographs for little girls who happened to be there. her staff are some of the friendliest and most cooperative I have ever encountered; quality folks all the way around!
I will tell you more latter but make sure you tune in Wednesday at 7 Central Time zone.

Shania is the biggest cross over pop country star of alltime and the biggest selling. She is also a class act and very nice. Why did you single out Taylor Swift as being nice? Was Shania mean to the crew or something?
My guess is that Shania was a class act as always.
Jake, don’t get me wrong everyone was top flight! Shania and most of the stars were quickly ushered off to their waiting motor homes or limos when shooting was not taking place but Taylor was more available and willing to mix with the public. Shania is one very beautiful woman who makes you smile just to me near her! Everyone involved was a class act and professional.
