It is nearly impossible for car enthusiast to own all of the wonderful cars we lust over. Diecast models help if you can find one that represents your desire but it is Art Work that can really make the juices flow. There are many fine artists who do excellent work. We sometime have difficulty finding even art work that depicts a car we want to capture for our wall or can’t afford it when we do. Katrina and I have sought out some of our favorites pieces of work and commissioned others to meet our desires. We have collected some of these to share with our readers and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Michael Irvine Prints
About artist Michael Irvine
With a passion for the automobile that started in his childhood, award winning artist, Michael Irvine has chosen to focus his artistic talent on capturing American muscle cars in watercolor. His unique approach to this traditionally ‘loose’ medium, and ardent eye for detail produces clean, sharp images that are alive with color and narration. Michael’s use of reflective surfaces and ‘hidden’ images along with his attention to technical accuracy, and use of high impact colors, make his paintings incredibly captivating.
All Michael’s Limited Edition Prints are printed on 100% acid free, museum quality, heavy weight paper. Each is individually signed/numbered, embossed with Michael’s Studio Seal and accompanid by a Certificate of Authenticity.
Boss Building
In this watercolor painting, automotive artist Michael Irvine, lets us take a peek into Ford’s history. To catch a glimpse of the Kar Kraft Michigan Plant, where one of the world’s most famous big blocks got it’s start. It’s a summer day in 1969 — a Grabber Green Boss 429 rolls off the line. Inside, an engine is being lowered into the next street racer. ‘Joe’ from Quality Control, checks under the hood of a Grabber Blue ’70, while the train loaded with more Bosses and Shelbys leaves the plant.

Four Barrel Four Speed with Dual Exhaust
Introduced in 1964 as an option on the Oldsmobile F-85 and Cutlass models, the 442 became a model in it’s own right from 1968 through ’71. In 1968 and ’69, when equipped with the W-30 option – which included the under bumper air scoops attached to the intake hoses that fed directly into the chrome topped dual snorkel air cleaner – these cars became true pavement-pounding muscle machines. Michael puts you right in the path of these two bad boys … giving you a dramatic low view of what makes these Holiday Coupes so cool – the under-bumper air scoops and the striking red plastic wheel wells. Optioned with the W-30 package and complete with scoops and stripes, these high performance muscle cars enjoy tearing up a quiet country road.

Elimination Round
On any given Sunday in the late 1960s-early ’70s, you could visit the nearest drag strip and cheer on your favorite drivers as they showcased their talents a quarter mile at a time. Cougar enthusiasts are treated to a special show as this Sunday brings out the best of the breed. From Boss-powered Eliminators to XR-7s, from GT-Es to vintage racers, they’ve all come out on ‘Top Eliminator Day.’ At the track are two legendary racers, Fast Eddie Schartman and Dyno Don shooting it out, while the infield plays host to the Classic Cat show.

Any Color so long as it’s Black
Whether Henry Ford actually said the words or not, they were the inspiration for this amazing piece. Set against the factory representing the birthplace of revolutionized automotive production, this painting features five of Ford’s most impressive big blocks of the 60s. The Galaxie 427, Torino GT 428CJ, Fairlane 427, Boss 429 Mustang and Cougar GTE 427 were all available in black, with factory installed hood scoops.

Six Pack Salute
It’s a spectacular day on the show field and all the Mopars are looking their best! This incredible painting is all about the cars-and the arrival of the Superbird-with the obvious show-stopping impact it has. Not only does it command the stares of appreciative on-lookers, it is worthy of a “6-pack salute.”. One of Michael’s most color-intense paintings, it features Mopars from 1967 through 1971, including the powerful GTXs, Road Runners, Super Bees, Chargers, Cudas and a Challenger! With it’s ‘reflection-in-a-reflection-in-a-reflection,’ this painting is as much of a head-turner as the cars it pays tribute to!

About the artist: Herb Dixon spent a full career in the industrial design world working with such manufacturing firms as Winnebago where he did renderings of futuristic motor homes. He also owned his own design business but now is focusing on his life long passion for art and cars. We are lucky enough to be featuring one of his very first works and I assure you it won’t be the last.
This is a very limited high quality print. It measures 18″x24″ and is signed by the artist, Herb Dixon. This car was first raced in 1935 and was sponsored by Packard-Bell Radio. It was the only SOHC Offy ever raced. Only two of these engines were every made. Riley Brett and Fred Offenhauser along with Leo Goessen designed the engine to be competitive in midget racing. Although most blocks were 91 cubic inches this one was only 85ci. Nick Pappas of Oregon restored the car pictured in the print.
The cost is $124.95 plus tax in Tennessee. As a Grand Opening Special, for a limited time Shipping is FREE (inside US only).
18″x24″ Signed Fine Art Print
11″x14″ Signed Fine Art Print $44.95

This is a 1927 Whippet! John N. Willys told his dealers that the Whippet title was intended as a generic name for the broad class of vehicles of which would be light, fast, economical and stylish yet inexpensively priced car. Salesmen were urged to get the motoring public to talk of the new type of light car as a WHIPPET type. Here was a car with 4 wheel brakes, water pump cooling and pressurized lubrication – all strong technical features for the time. Styling was said to be European, a compact yet roomy body, low center of gravity, good looks, performance and economy.
It wasn’t until January 1927 that the Whippet name was really emphasized on the vehicle itself. This naming convention was reinforced when the six cylinder Overland 93 was quickly restyled and renamed as a Whippet 93A.
Artist, Herb Dixon created this beautiful rendering to document the car recently restored by his brother. It is a document to the artistic skills of both brothers! A collector car like this will set you back some big bills but to hang this one on your wall is considerably less. Each print is signed and numbered. The “Legendary Collector Car” text does not appear on the print! Price: $124.95 plus tax to Tennessee residents. Shipping is FREE for a limited time.
