I have a 1969 lincoln continental and the hood will not release when I pull the handle. I found that you had the same problem a while back. Did you get any useful information? thanks

As the former owner of a Spoiler II (9H15M565839) the hood release cable was a standard Ford part, IIRC, the release cable for either a Thunderbird or a Mk III Lincoln Continental.

While restoring mine, I lost the ferrule/collar, got tired of messing with it, and tossed it in a box (!!!) substituting parts store hood pins instead.

... that was a long time before anyone knew what they were doing with these cars, especially me!

Paul, what do you need to know? The Talladega/Spoiler II latches are based on the regular Torino/Cyclone latches but are modified to work with a inside hood release. The inside release is required on these two models due to the extended front end sheet metal.

Great how to. I will get going on my Talladega cable next week. You've made it easy. After 40 years the cable is broken on my car. I can get rid of the ugly metal wire sticking out by the hood.
