Cars of Norway
Kjell Rygge who lives near Oslo Norway is a regular visitor to Legendary Collector Cars.com. He recently sent us some photos of his cars and others from some of his friends in Norway. We have posted some of our favorites. These are fine examples of what a gearhead in Norway drives. Do they know what a gearhead is in Norway? Let me know.
The next time you complain about the prices of cars in the States remember that these fellows have to pay a 25% tax in Norway on top of the purchase price and shipping cost from the US to Norway. Kjell stated that a new US muscle car like the Shelby Mustang is taxed so heavily in Norway that one might cost as much as $250,000 over there!
This is a sweet little 66 Mustang Convertible…
with Air!
1971 Mustang Boss 351. Note the rear license plate and compare it to the front plate below.
Why do you need a front spoiler with a license plate that big?
Here is a great shot of his 1969 Mustang Mach 1.
I think this Mach 1 is set up to be driven fast and handle well.
From this perspective it looks like it will handle and drive very well.
This is a car that belongs to a friend of Kjell. They even like 1968 Bullit Mustangs in Norway. Kjell says, just like all of us, he has the Steve McQueen Bullit DVD in his movie collection.
This 1967 S code Mustang is getting a complete rebuild by Kjell. Would love to see this when it is done.
Here is a 1968 Shelby Convertible Clone. Check out the exhaust outlets just in front of the rear tire.
Looks good with the stock Mustang tail lights and lets you know its not trying to be a real Shelby.
Spend sometime looking at this underside. See anything strange? How about that big aluminum box in front of the differential? That is a hand built muffler feeding the side exhaust outlets. However, it also has the cutouts to let the engine skip that pesky back pressure when the need arises.
Here is a rather stock looking 1967 Mustang Fastback, right?
Nope! This is a 1154 HP Dart engine under the hood.
This is the side exhaust outlet from the 1967 fastback it has a double turbo!
This is from the same 67 fastback, check out the paddle shifter on the steering wheel!

Love the cars! I am a Mustang fan, especially the pre-70s. I have a 64 1/2 289 but it is no where close to being as nice as these in the article!! Thanks for sharing!!! Mustang Mike
