Don Garlits Antique Car Museum

Don long ago we brought you photos from the Don Garlits Drag Racing Museum, today we are adding the Don Garlits Antique Car Museum. Either one of these museums is worth the visit but put the two on one site for one admission price and you have a Legendary Deal! I know a lot of you travel to Florida to visit the Orlando area or make the Daytona pilgrimage on race weekend. If you are anywhere near these centers then you are close to Ocala and the home of Don Garlits.

The time you need to visit these museums is like most others. You can make a quick walk through and see everything quickly in an hour or so. However, if you want to get the full impact of what is in these buildings and read all the data that is available then plan on a full day to study the cars and read all the signs! Unless your wife and kids are into drag racing or fast cars you best leave them at the motel pool side and enjoy yourself and Don’s place!

About the Author: I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California. The time there was very rewarding but the urge for a slower pace moved us to Tennessee a few years ago and we love it. I have been into cars since I was old enough to remember. I don't have a brand loyalty although I do prefer American Muscle. As long as it has four wheels on it I get excited. Few men are lucky enough to be able to share their passion for cars with the woman they love. Fortunately, my wife Katriana is also a gear head and many of our activities revolve around the cars. When they don't we are usually out with our miniature donkeys. You can see more about that part of our lives at http://www.LegendaryFarms.com.

I’d like to purchase the 47 minute VHS video, “Antique Car Museum.” My husband purchased one last Wednesday at the museum store and I crushed it in the HHR while moving my seat up. Please give me information on ordering the VHS. Thank you. Sheila Miller
