If you have been following the progress on our Barn Find AMX you know we haven’t told you much lately. That is because we have been in the garage working! We are on track for having the car ready for the first big show in Nashville this spring. We hope to unveil the little red rocket at the Nashville Good Guys show in May with a preview run at the Murfreesboro First Cruise night that same month.
The first work has all been on the mechanical side of things with replacement of old soft parts and replacement or rebuilding of everything mechanical. The engine is out and being rebuilt. The engine bay and underside have been cleaned and prepared for paint. The front suspension has been dropped and sanded for paint. Here are just a couple of pictures to wet your appetite.
The car is now at the body shop and the engine bay is getting sanded and prepared for some fresh red paint. You will also note that the entire front suspension has been removed. All worn parts and soft parts will be replaced and everything painted before being reassembled. New KYB shocks will also be installed along with new calipers and rotors.
John at JW’s Body Shop in Murfreesboro, TN sands away to get a perfect finish on the soon to be red engine bay.
Good friend George Houk is building a great 390 for the street.

About the Author: I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California. The time there was very rewarding but the urge for a slower pace moved us to Tennessee a few years ago and we love it. I have been into cars since I was old enough to remember. I don't have a brand loyalty although I do prefer American Muscle. As long as it has four wheels on it I get excited. Few men are lucky enough to be able to share their passion for cars with the woman they love. Fortunately, my wife Katriana is also a gear head and many of our activities revolve around the cars. When they don't we are usually out with our miniature donkeys. You can see more about that part of our lives at http://www.LegendaryFarms.com.
