Good Guys Nostalgia Nationals Drag Race and Show Video and Photos, Bowling Green, KY 2008

Last weekend we went to the first ever GoodGuys Nostalgia Nationals in Bowling Green, KY. Not just a car show, not just drag races, not a cruise, not just a swap meet, not just a car coral; IT’S ALL OF THAT! You know when someone says GoodGuys it means class; you know it means hot rods, you know it means customs and now it means muscle cars and drag racing and a lot more.
We spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the event and were never bored. For a first ever event the folks at GoodGuys did an excellent job. There were a few of the usual screw ups and confusion but all and all it went very well and we have no serious complaints.
The facilities were also very handy. We drove up in the motor-home and pulled the Talladega on a trailer. We camped right on the grounds at Beech Bend Campground along with what seemed like half the show cars at the event. It was extremely convenient and very quiet. We have stayed there previously when some Mustang folks were having a similar event and it was terrible. There were punk kids in jacked up Mustangs doing burn outs all night long and one report of a car getting out of control and hitting a camper. NONE OF THAT at this event. Everyone was on their best behavior and very friendly.
Go to our On Tour page and check out the photos. Over the next few weeks we will be providing detailed photo coverage of the dragsters, show cars, rat rods and hot rods as well as some of the muscle cars. Every-time we put up a new page we will let you know right here in our blog so keep checking back.
You should also check out our Feature Car page and look over a beautiful pair of Boss Mustangs. One is a 1969 and the other a 1970. Both are Calypso Coral and both are show winners in every respect. They both made the Winners Circle at the Bowling Green GoodGuys show!

About the Author: I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California. The time there was very rewarding but the urge for a slower pace moved us to Tennessee a few years ago and we love it. I have been into cars since I was old enough to remember. I don't have a brand loyalty although I do prefer American Muscle. As long as it has four wheels on it I get excited. Few men are lucky enough to be able to share their passion for cars with the woman they love. Fortunately, my wife Katriana is also a gear head and many of our activities revolve around the cars. When they don't we are usually out with our miniature donkeys. You can see more about that part of our lives at http://www.LegendaryFarms.com.
